The rumored HTC One M10 will reportedly skip the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain this coming February as a new report indicates that the upcoming Android flagship will be revealed via an exclusive HTC event. The handset is known at the moment is HTC Perfume.

Writing for Venture Beat, Evan Blass (also known as @evleaks) reported this week that the One M10 is practically in the final cut. While a prototype is already in existence, Blass hinted that "the device's appearance may still be subject to change." The popular gadget leaker pointed to a person who was given hands-on experience with the M10 prototype as source of his information.

Earlier, Blass has claimed in a report that HTC's flagship may just take a direct page from the iPhone 6-doppelganger HTC One A9 in terms of looks and design but this seems to be out of the question for now.

As for the launch and pricing details, the Venture Beat report made it clear that the One M10 is a no-go for the 2016 edition of the MWC tech gadget showcase. It appears that HTC is more inclined to give the One M10 its own spotlight instead of sharing the stage with other devices hence the decision to stage a separate launch for the new smartphone.

Blass' source, however, were unable to obtain the specific release date details as well as the likely pricing of the HTC One M10.

But his report claimed that the device unboxing is forecasted to be attended by "enthusiastic market reception," as the kit is touted packed with powerful specs and killer feature upgrades from the last version.

On the hardware side, the headliner is a Snapdragon 820 mobile chip that is paired with 4GB of RAM. The display panel measures diagonally at 5.1-inch that renders in QHD 2560 x 1440 screen resolution with an Adreno 530 firing up the glorious AMOLED display set up. The basic One M10 model will retail in 32GB flavor with the welcome option for memory expansion, thanks to the inclusion of a microSD slot.

The One M9 sequel will have a physical Home button on the front panel that is embedded with fingerprint sensor, which Blass noted is a first for an HTC flagship phone.

Another likely banner feature is the 12-UltraPixel camera that the report said is laced with laser-assisted autofocus capability.

On release date, which likely will happen as early as March 2016, the HTC One M10 will be powered by Android 6.1 Marshmallow and layered on top by HTC's Sense 8.0 UI.
