NetherRealm Studios continues to reveal more characters included in "Injustice 2" roster as it approaches towards its release in May. The latest playable one is Batman villain, Scarecrow.
The listing on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) shows Robert Englund as the voice of the Batman baddie Scarecrow. Englund is the guy who also played the infamous serial killer Freddy Krueger in the film series, "Nightmare on Elm Street".
Scarecrow and Captain Cold are the latest characters to join Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's upcoming fighting game sequel. Captain Cold is the longtime nemesis of The Flash who uses his power to freeze his enemies.
There are now 28 characters who have been confirmed for the DC superhero brawling title, including Darkseid who is a pre-order bonus. The list of the confirmed characters for "Injustice 2" are Aquaman, Atrocitus, Bane, Batman, Black Adam, Black Canary, Blue Beetle and Brainiac. In addition to the line-up are Captain Cold, Catwoman, Cheetah, Cyborg, Deadshot, Doctor Fate, Firestorm, Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Robin, Scarecrow, Supergirl, Superman, Swamp Thing and Wonder Woman.
In more news, the sequel will feature a new in-game called Source Crystals that can be used to buy characters' cosmetic features as opposed to the first game. This new currency can be spent on the game's Premiere Skins, Transform Gear feature, and shaders for existing skins. According to the game's official forum website, Source Crystals can be purchased with real-world money, however, players cannot "pay to win."
It means that this will not do anything to help the player to make progress in the game, and it cannot be used to buy any Gear either. It will make no gameplay advantage for the player as well.
One use of Source Crystals is the Character Shaders, which will allow players to change their character Gear 's color from different choices of color combinations, changing their looks from top to bottom.
More details about Source Crystals can be viewed via WB's official forum page for "Injustice 2". The next fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios comes to PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
