The iPhone 7 Plus that is expected to release in September 2016 is expected to arrive with a dual-camera setup.
Even though the rumor mill is talking about the March 2016 event when Apple is likely to unveil several devices like iPhone 5se, iPad Air 3 and Apple Watch 2, there is huge speculations on the purported specs of the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus flagship smartphones.
Ming-Chi Kuo, the popular analyst from KGI Securities, has predicted that the iPhone 7 Plus will be arriving with a major improvement in the camera department. Kuo has revealed that the iPhone 7 Plus will be coming with a dual-camera system, Apple Insider reported.
The camera sensor will be provided by LinX, a firm that is known for building super-slim camera sensors. LinX was taken over by Apple in 2015. The dual-camera system will constitute of two camera sensors of 12 MP. One of them will be enabled with features like Optical Images Stabilization and wide viewing angle. The other camera sensor will sport a 2-3x telephoto lens. It may be an indication that Apple may offer optical zoom feature to its users on the iPhone 7 Plus smartphone.
Kuo added that all iPhone 7 Plus variants will not feature dual-camera system. It will be only available on its premium variant. By making the functionality available exclusively on certain iPhone 7 Plus models, Apple will be able to deal with production issue if any. The dual camera setup will be only available in around 25 to 35 percent of the total Apple iPhone 7 Plus units.
In 2015 and 2014, Apple released two editions of iPhones, one featuring a 4.7-inch display and the other one featuring 5.5-inch display. This year too, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are expected to arrive with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays.
Both the Apple iPhone 7 models are expected to arrive with revamped design. Rumors suggest that the Cupertino-based company will be axing the headphone jack on both devices to enable them to sport slimmer and lighter design. In order to listen to music on the forthcoming iPhone 7 smartphones, users will either have to make use of a Bluetooth headset or connect a wired headphone to the Lightning port, ZD Net reported.
