Microsoft has officially confirmed the names of the smartphones that are eligible to receive Windows 10 Mobile Creators update.
Windows 10 Mobile Creators update will not be available to all the smartphones running on Windows 10 Mobile OS. In other words, smartphones that more than two years old will not be getting the new software update. So, older smartphones like Lumia 730, Lumia 830, Lumia 930, Lumia 1020, Lumia 1320, and Lumia 1520 will not be getting the Windows 10 Creators Update, which means these phones will be getting only patches and cumulative updates, MS Power User reported.
ZD Net has reported that according to a Microsoft spokesperson, "a device may not be able to receive the Creators Update if the device hardware is incompatible, lacking current drivers, or otherwise outside of the Original Equipment Manufacturer's ('OEM') support period." Here is the list of smartphones that will be upgraded to Windows 10 Creators Update for Mobile:
The new software update will not bring overhaul improvements to the aforementioned smartphones. However, it will improve the performance of the Microsoft Edge browser, enhanced support for e-books and the arrival of new icon for Share function. All the devices that are mentioned will be getting the update starting from April 25.
It is interesting to note that some of the older smartphones have already received the preview builds of Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update, but they are not included in the list mentioned above. There is a possibility that the Redmond giant may update the list soon. The above list is not an official one from Microsoft. Hence, it is expected to soon confirm on the official list of smartphones to receive Windows 10 Creators Update for Mobile.
