Takashi Tokita, the designer of Square Enix will engage in a project for the Nintendo Switch. Known to be the director of the classic Chrono Trigger, Tokita himself revealed that he will start working on the Switch. One thing that is not clear though is that there was no revelation whether the work will be a new game, a remake or a port of a game.
Enough for the speculation, Square Enix's pronouncement hinted that the designer will be working on just a simple port for the Chrono Trigger. The gadget will be a portable retro device to improve the game speed as reported by Technobuffalo. This is just a 'piece of cake' for the expert game developer of Final Fantasy IV sequels, Parasite Eve, among other smartphone games.
In a similar report by Nintendolife, Square Enix is targeting Nintendo Switch for hardware support of its various games. Hence, the Switch project will be one of Takashi Tokita's priorities and this will include the much - followed history of the Chrono Trigger, which has been closely linked with Nintendo. It could be that the new project will include the system and the ports.
It can be remembered though that the Nintendo DS port got a high acceptance way back in 2008. In the meantime, Square Enix is looking at other potentials to go into like working on original games and not on a remake for Nintendo Switch. However, for more update on the Switch, stay tuned to Telegiz.
