Apple iMac 2017 Specs, Release Date: 5K Desktop Packed with Secret Latest GPU, Sans Touch Screen Available Q3

(Photo : YouTube) Apple's new iMac 2017 is underway for Q3 release date and packed with hi-end specs and secret latest GPU.

The all new 5K iMac 2017 is expected to arrive by third quarter of 2017, sporting a powerful Xeon E3 1285 processor and hi-end specs with a secret latest GPU. The new server grade model will not, however, have a touch screen feature. 

The most recent reports on the release date of iMac 2017 say that it will be available in the second half of 2017, around third quarter of this year. The new supply chain data has revealed that Apple is revving up the production of a server grade model that will sport the Xeon E3 chip, DigiTimes reported. 

The publication added that there will be a couple of iMac 2017 models in the pipeline. Built by Quanta Computer, the upcoming desktop will come in 21.5-inch and 27-inch size models.

Under the hood, the server grade device will have 16GB and 64GB of ECC RAM, with up to 2TB of NVMe SSE storage. It will likely boast the latest GPU that is kept a secret as of now, as per Apple Insider.  

Earlier this month,  Apple confirmed its plans to refresh focus on Pro users. In a press release, the company said that it is not just the the new iMac 2017 that will have a Pro consumer focus is in the offing but will include the new modular Mac Pro.

"Top configs, it's incredibly powerful, and a huge fraction of what would've traditionally. Whether it's audio editing, video editing, graphics, arts, and so forth that would've previously absolutely required the Mac Pros of old, are being well addressed by iMac," Apple's Software Engineering Senior Vice President of Craig Federighi said. 

The new iMac 2017 will be packed with hi-end features and impressive specs when it releases later this year. But it is likely that the the 5K desktop will not have a touch screen feature.
