Pangu recently broke its silence and dropped hints that a new jailbreak could be out soon, the rumored release date as early as next week, and it will run on iPhones and iPads with iOS 10.3 and version 10.3.1. The jailbreak is seen as a 64-bit solution, adding to the Yalu JB tool from Luca Todesco and the release essentially completing the jailbreak coverage.

Pangu providing an iOS 10.x jailbreak that will work on 64-bit devices will lead to the scenario in which jailbreak solutions are available for all iPhones and iPads, including the 32-bit models. Currently ready for download is the 64-bit Todesco Yalu jailbreak left unfinished (in beta status) by its creator but is otherwise usable despite some limitations.

Also in circulation is Pangu's previous work - the Pangu9 jailbreak that will unlock iOS devices on firmware versions 9.2 to 9.3.3. An even better alternative is the Home Depot solution that can crack open devices powered by iOS 9.1 to 9.3.4. Both are optimized for 32-bit iPhones and iPads.

According to iDownloadBlog.com, using the Pangu9 or Home Depot is now made easier with the jailbreaking tool iDeviceReRestore, which permits the downgrading or upgrading from an original firmware (anywhere from iOS 6, 8, 9 and 10) to iOS 9.x. Jailbreaking then will open so long as users have the saved blobs for the destination firmware, which is restricted to iOS 9.1 to 9.3.4. It goes without saying that the iOS 9.x restore bug is designed for 32-bit devices.

So Pangu finally cracking iOS 10 is not only a welcome news; the likelihood of the tool becoming public will lead to a wider jailbreaking coverage that will span both the 32-bit and 64-bit realms. And the news will only get better if the rumored iOS 10.3-10.3.1 jailbreak will prove better than the one afforded by Todesco, which was plagued by a number of issues and foremost is the lack of support for the iPhone 7 series.

In demo that was presented in Shanghai, China, the Pangu jailbreak was seen running on the latest Apple flagship, indicating that the Chinese hacking group has potentially unlocked what Todesco failed to do. But more importantly, the jailbreak release will keep the fire burning for jailbreak fans that previously were made to believe jailbreaking will come to an end soon.

On the contrary, jailbreaking seems to be alive and kicking, and will soon boast of an expansive coverage - accessible for iPhones and iPads in 32-bit and 64-bit models.
