"God of War 4" release date may encounter another delay since it was first announced four years ago. The highly expected 2017 release may likely be pushed further up to 2018.
Although there has been renewed assurance from the game developer that the upcoming "God of War" installment is "looking better every day," fans are still longing to expedite its release. However, such request may be thwarted, especially with the latest game update detailing that the game may be released either February or March of 2018.
The latest reveal has been associated with the latest social media status of the game's voice actor Christopher Judge. In March 2017, Judge's Twitter bio showcased "God of War 4" dated 2017, and just most recently it was changed to 2018.
Although there has been no confirmation yet coming from game developer Sony Santa Monica, some followers and enthusiasts believed that such move is part of a marketing strategy. Releasing the "GoW" franchise this year would mean immersing the game into a much-crowded gaming industry scene.
Early 2018 is a perfect date for release where it might be devoid of any major competitions. Apart from that, the company could also extend the hype and make more improvements to the game, especially that game director Cory Barlog admitted of the game's complexity.
Meanwhile, despite the lack of "God of War 4" release date, few details of the game has been released online. In terms of its setting, it is now being suggested that the game will take place "well before the first Vikings."
With these recent updates, some expecting gamers were disheartened of the said delay. However, some are still hopeful about a 2017 release of the game, especially that it could appear at the upcoming E3 2017 event. It is believed that Sony's press conference might likely pave the way for the game's release.
