"The Sims 5" may still be a long way off as Maxis continues to provide fun support for "The Sims 4" with the upcoming family-themed game pack and stuff packs in the pipeline. However, fans of the popular life simulation game have not stopped to speculate what new features they would likely see in the next entry to the game series.
Electronic Arts previously stated that "The Sims 5" will only see the light of day if "The Sims 4" will be successful if it meets expectations in terms of revenue. So far, the publisher has not given any update on what lies ahead of the franchise's future.
However, fans and pundits alike do share such possibility of a fifth title and that it will likely launch around 2019. It is noted that EA has followed a four to five-year gap as release pattern between Sims games and "The Sims 4" was released back in 2014, so fans can do the math.
Rumors have also swirled online that "The Sims 5" will expectantly boast a notable improvement on its graphics department. It will also introduce unique and fresh features to keep the interest of Sims players intact.
Among the possible exciting features to be included in the next title is the addition of cars and bicycles, according to Blorge. The publication also added that Maxis can jump on the bandwagon and add a VR support to up the sales.
Meanwhile, Maxis confirmed via Twitter that an announcement teaser for "The Sims 4" family-themed game pack is coming in few weeks' time. The fifth game pack is already set to arrive before spring season ends and will reportedly contain day care, pre-teens, expanded schools and the like.
Given that "The Sims 5" is indeed underway for 2019 release, fans can look forward to an announcement before 2017 closes. On the other hand, "The Sims 4" is still set to receive a Sports-themed stuff pack in June and the fan created Eco Living Stuff Pack that will be out sometime in 2018.
