Burton is known for lending his voice to Cloud Strife in "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" CGI animated film, as well as other Square Enix games like "Dissidia: Final Fantasy," "World of Final Fantasy," and the "Kingdom Hearts" series.
Meanwhile, it seems that Square Enix might feature new gameplay details for "Final Fantasy 7" remake at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo next month.
Twitter username Dystify tweeted that a second hand source claimed "Final Fantasy 7" remake will make an appearance during the event and teased a Nintendo Switch version.
It is not yet determined whether Dystify's source is legitimate, since the Twitter username did not named the source's name and the fact that Square Enix has not made an offcial announcement regarding "Final Fantasy 7" remake at the said event , SegmentNext reported.
Square Enix has been testing out the specs for Nintendo Switch andthey prefer to develop games for console rather than the Xbox Scorpio. The Japanese developers is actively looking at new ports and other games to bring to the system, which is selling very well so far, especially in Japan. They also teased other new projects in development for the system.
Five games are being developed for the Nintendo Switch, but "Final Fantasy 7" remake was not included yet due to the game being relatively new and in developement. Although, it does not mean the remake could not be added to the console.
Square Enix is very clearly testing the waters with Nintendo Switch and wants to platform to succeed similar to their upcoming titles.
The "Final Fantasy 7" remake will have a action-based combat as regards to the turne-based system used in the original game. Game director Tetsuya Nomura told Famitsu (via GamingBolt) that the remake will have destructive environments within the map and players will have the ability to detect and destroy several parts of boss character during battles.
Nomura added that maps and object destruction will happen at some point within "Final Fantasy 7" remake and there are part-based elements that can be destroyed like the Guard Scorpion's legs in order to take advantage of the situation during boss battles.
The idea of destroying individual parts of the enemy in the middle of the boss battle is certainly an interesting one. However, it remains to be seen that how much in-depth the developers have implemented it into "Final Fantasy 7" remake.
Square Enix will also implement some changes in the Materia System as well, calling it "skill based" and it will be different from casting magic.
Players will also have the ability to switch into different "Final Fantasy VII" characters during battles depending on the situation and enemy encounters will not be so random when exploring dungeons or open fields.
There is no release date announcement for "Final Fantasy 7" remake.
