HTC has sent sending media invites for the May 16 launch event of its upcoming phone, the alleged HTC U 11. It is expected to be cheaper than HTC U Ultra
The HTC U Ultra was launched in the U.S. for $749. Reports coming from Taiwan claim that the HTC U 11 would be cheaper than HTC U Ultra, the Snapdragon 821 driven smartphone. In Taiwan, the U 11 is expected to be available for 20,000 Taiwan dollars (around $660), Phone Arena reported. Recently, the phone appeared on the GFXBench site. The upcoming flagship HTC U 11 is carrying model number U-3u. The detailed specs of the phone have been listed below.
The GFXBench listing reveals that the HTC U 11 flagship has a 5.5-inch display that supports quad HD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The phone runs on the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 Graphics.
The listing further reveals that the phone will come packed with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Some rumors suggest that the smartphone will also come with a higher variant of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage.
The HTC U 11 phone is likely to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front shooter. It is expected come loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat customized with HTC Sense UI on its top.
At the time of launch ,it is said to come in color variants of Red, Black, Blue, White, and Silver. It is likely to omit the 3.5mm audio jack instead use USB Type-C port. It has connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
Earlier leaks reveal the phone will come with Edge Sense metallic frame. This feature will allow the phone recognize the gestures like squeezing. HTC has also released a video teaser to reveal how the Edge Sense feature works.
