After the official released of the Samsung Galaxy S8, rumors are now starting to emerge about its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S9. Both Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are considered to be one of the best smartphones in the market today, but rumors claim that the upcoming Galaxy S9 wants to correct every little imperfection of the 2017 flagship.
The Korean Tech giant has not yet confirmed and revealed any details about the rumored 2018 flagship, tough based on the company's naming scheme it will likely arrive as Samsung Galaxy S9.
When it comes to its upcoming specs, the flagship would probably be powerful compared to its predecessor. In terms of design, it is said to perfect and refine the concept introduced in Samsung Galaxy S8. But that only means Galaxy S9 may be similar to the design template of 2017 flagship with several enhancements.
According to a recent report from TechRadar, Samsung and Qualcomm collaborated for Snapdragon 845 SoC to feature a huge development opposed to the Snapdragon 835 processor of the Galaxy S8. However, the specifications of the SD 845 are still unknown, but rumors claim that it will be power-efficient than the current flagship SoC.
Galaxy S9's design is still expected to be similar to Galaxy S8, so the Infinity Display will probably still be featured on the 2018 flagship. But prior reports have teased that Galaxy S9 will likely to arrive featuring 4K panel rather that the S8's QHD+ display.
It has already been speculated that Samsung will launch a 4K smartphone by the end of 2017 in the form of Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Hence, Galaxy S9's release in the following year will possibly have perfected 4K displays.
Additionally, Galaxy S9 would like to include all of the important features that Galaxy S8 have missed. Prior to their release, Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are said to give the best that any mobile industry has to offer. But, some reports said that production problems forced Samsung to compensate for agreements regarding the final design of the 2017 flagship.
Among these is the device's fingerprint scanner. Initially, it is expected to come embedded on the display of the Galaxy S8. However, the feature was reported to be hard to mass-produce that's why Samsung turned it into rear fingerprint sensor. Meanwhile, for Galaxy S9, the fingerprint scanner is rumored to embed onto the display for a smoother experience.
Another rumored feature of Galaxy S9 to address the imperfection of Galaxy S8 is the dual camera system. This configuration has been expected on the 2017 flagship but Samsung has reportedly disregarded the concept.
According to The Bell, a South Korean publication, the production of Samsung Galaxy S9 will be earlier than the usual. Therefore, the testing of the flagship will also be earlier, which may also have an early release on 2018.
Lastly, the price of Samsung Galaxy S9 is not yet confirmed, though similar to pricing of the previous devices, it is expected to be extremely costly.
