Niantic Labs may have snuck a new update for "Pokemon GO" that player didn't know about. It is now easier for trainers to get rare evolution items in the game.
The latest development on "Pokemon GO" is that the game developer appeared to have made it easer for trainers to grab rare evolution items in-game. These special evolution items include Dragon Scale, Metal Coat, Sun Stone, Kings Rock and Upgrade.
Prior to the secret update for "Pokemon GO", players can only acquire the special evolution items in spinning okestops, Daily Star wrote.
Players can only avail one evolution item upon spinning a 7-day streak in the game. Despite that there is a possibility to spin a Pokestop and receive it below the 7-day streak, it is almost a virtual chance at 0.03% drop per Pokestop spin, according to a research.
But now, it looks like there is an increase in drop rates, the latest Pokemon GO Hub post on Twitter. "According to a growing number of reports on reddit and our official Twitter page, a lot of trainers received three evolution items on their 7th day, with some reporting the same increase on random PokéStop spins," the tweet read.
It added to reveal that the most recene GAME_MASTER file dug from their device showed that an update was done on May 09. This means that a new server side build was fed to Niantic's servers.
If this secret update is permanent, it will see lots of trainers able to evolve a number of rare Gen 2 Pokemon much sooner in "Pokemon GO". Stay tuned for more news and updates.
