The latest updates for "Dynasty Warriors 9" will have an open-world feature, more than 83 playable characters and players can choose a resolution in the PS4 Pro.
Game developer Omega Force announce the ninth entry in the "Dynasty Warriors" game series and offered new game details for the sequel. "Dynasty Warriors 9" will be the first in the series to feature an open-world gameplay, rather than a typical hack and slash type game.
Players will still battle massive hordes of enemies in "Dynasty Warriors 9," but this time they will do so in intertwining missions that allow them to “experience" history across a multitude of perspectives and battles throughout the whole of China.
The game's publisher Koei Tecmo explained that setting out to complete various objectives, players will utilize an unprecedented world map to navigate and traverse a variety of different landscapes ranging from vast plains to snow-covered peaks presented with dynamic day/night and weather cycles.
Exploring these impressive environments in "Dynasty Warriors" is made more engaging through the ability to adapt to surroundings to gain an upper hand in battle, with players able to use equipment to circumvent obstacles or blend in to avoid conflict.
Aside from the open-world features, "Dynasty Warriors 9" will feature more than 83 playable characters, along with a new one named Cheng Pu. Koei Tecmo describes him as “a long-term retainer who supported three generations of the Sun family and contributed to the expansion and stability of the Wu kingdom, Polygon reported.
The game publisher added that players can change the resolution settings of "Dynasty Warriors 9" in the PlayStation 4 Pro. Game director Atsushi Miyauchi confirmed that "Dynasty Warriors 9" will run at “stable” 4K/30FPS or 1080P/60FPS, which will be impressive to the game's open-world feature.
Unfortunately, Dynasty Warriors 9" will not feature an online multiplayer feature as Omega Force stated that they are having troubles even with implementing local co-op due to the new open world mechanics, but they might add some asynchronous online elements in a similar fashion to "Nioh," WCCFTech reported.
"Dynasty Warriors 9" is speculated to launch this year for the PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles.
