The latest updates for "Destiny 2" will feature the schedules for the gameplay reveal stream and a new weapon leaked online.
It seems that a new weapon for "Destiny 2" has been leaked online as YouTube username Arekkz revealed that players can gain access to SMG type weapons in the sequel.
Comparing the weapon to other shots and footage used in "Destiny 2’s" promotional campaign to date, Arekkz points out that it does not just look different, but is held differently than the game’s other, bulkier rifles, VG 24/7 reported.
SMGs have long been a requested addition to "Destiny 2," so what could this mean for combat, loadouts, and the kinds of weapons we can expect to see in the game?
Previous reports stated that three animal symbols were featured in "Destiny 2's" hat merchandises and players speculated that they are the new subclasses in the sequel. However, YouTube channel My Name is Byf claimed that the three animal symbols in "Destiny 2" does not represent the new subclasses as he explained that animals have been featured in many in-game items like armor pieces, class items and gears.
Although Byf did not rule out the possibility that players could have animal pets/allies in "Destiny 2's" gameplay, the fact these animal symbols will not represent new subclasses in the sequel is something of a disappointed to gaming fans.
Meanwhile, the schedules for the "Destiny 2's" gameplay reveal has been announced. Bungie plans to host a gameplay reveal stream on Thursday, May 18th at the following times: 6pm (BST) in the Uniter Kingdom, 7pm (CEST) in Europe, 10am (PDT) in the West Coast and1pm (EDT) in the East Coast, Eurogamer reported.
Players can watch the event in any Odeon Cinemas or in Twitch. The the sequel will also have a “Bonus" content coming first on PlayStation 4. A standard practice in the video game industry with certain consoles paying for new DLC to come to their own platform before the competition.
While the exclusive content would not alarm players on other platforms, the way "Destiny 2‘s" content is talked about in other places should cause some concern. That is, fine print in trailers and other parts of the official "Destiny" website have made it clear that whatever content comes exclusively to the PS4 will be so until at least Fall 2018.
Gamers who highlighted the phrase "at least" drew the curiosity and most likely ire of most gamers using the Xbox One and PC. Not only is it a confirmation that PS4's exclusive content will stay that way for a year, it may very well extend beyond that.
"Destiny 2" will be available on Sept. 8 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
