The latest details for "Destiny 2" will feature cross-save, 4K support, uncapped frame rate and later release date for the PC version.
Bungie has officially announced new game details for "Destiny 2" this week as the developer showcased the sequel's new trailer, gameplay, game features and many more.
"Destiny 2" will feature new uncharted areas to explore within Earth, Saturn’s moon Titan, Nessus, and Jupiter’s moon Io. There are also new character subclasses in the sequel such as the Warlock Dawnblade, Hunter Arcstrider and the Titan Sentinel.
A new multiplayer mode has been added to "Destiny 2" called "Countdown" which is a new PvP game type is modeled as an “attack/defend” mode. Countdown will essentially have Guardians placing a bomb in their opponents’ bases to then guard it.
With all the new information being shoved and revealed by Bungie there is one particular detail that players noticed during the "Destiny 2" gameplay reveal event is that the PC version will be released in a later date. Video game producer Geoff Keighley tweeted that PC users may not expect "Destinty 2" within the year, but not on Sept. 8 which is the official launch date of the sequel.
Keighley made a follow-up tweet by stating that Bungie will be committed to making the PC version of "Destiny 2" work "right" for PC users, possibly teasing that the PC will trump the console version in any category.
"Destiny 2" for the PC platform will have 4K resolution support (3820×2160), an uncapped frame rate, full mouse and keyboard support with custom key mapping, text chat, adjustable Field of View, detailed PC settings screen and 21:9 monitor support, VG 24/7 reported.
There is also the possibility that players can cross-save "Destiny 2's" save file between the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. However, Microsoft has not made that feature available yet for the Xbox One, which this does not suggest cross-play is coming, simply the ability to pick up game saves across platforms. The game has been optimized for the PS4 Pro, Project Scorpio and "next PS4," GameZone reported.
Lastly, PC players are somewhat split over the announcement that "Destiny 2 will be exclusively available on Blizzard’s Battle.net service, not on Steam.
"Destiny 2" is set to launch on Sept. 8, 2017 for the PS4 and Xbox One, while the PC version will be release in a later date.
