The release of "Far Cry 5" may have been confirmed, but other details like game setting and additional platforms are yet to be discussed. As most reports would suggest advanced features of the PS4 Pro, Xbox One Scorpio, and Nintendo Switch may be supported with the game's fifth series.
Game developer Ubisoft has officially confirmed the development and upcoming release of the highly anticipated sequel to their hit franchise, "Far Cry." The fifth installment is expected to be released before the end of the fiscal year, according to Frag Hero.
As long as everything will be in place, the release of the fifth game would be before May 31, 2018, the official ending of the fiscal year. The said release period has also been associated with other notable titles, like Assassin's Creed: Origins.
In terms of the game platform, "Far Cry 5" may still be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It is said as such, for the game previous installments and spin-off were also made available on such gaming consoles.
However, concerning more advanced and updated consoles, like PS4 Pro, Xbox One Scorpio, Nintendo Switch, Ubisoft remains silent about it. There is no telling yet on whether game support is available for advanced features of the game console, like VR.
Another aspect of the game that is highly discussed online is its potential setting. In retrospect, "Far Cry 3" was set in tropical islands, while "Far Cry 4 allowed gamers to explore the Himalayas, according to PC Advisor.
Seeing that, some gamers then took to Reddit their idea that the game might be set in a similarly expansive environment, most probably in the desert area, where canyons are to be seen. This would somehow coincide with another discussed game setting situated somewhere in the west.
As of the current writing, what remains conclusive is that "Far Cry 5" is already underway. For its setting, features, and even platform availability, Ubisoft is yet to disclose such information.
