"Star Wars: Battlefront 2" has a new trailer that focuses on the making of its campaign mode. It explains why the developer has chosen the game's lead character and other stuff.
Via PlayStation's YouTube channel, DICE reveals the reason why the game's story mode will focus on the Imperials. It also explains why it selected Commander Iden Versio as the protagonist of "Star Wars: Battlefront 2".
EA Motive Game Director Mark Thompson describes Versio as an Imperial soldier whose father is an Admiral. She is loyal and she also truly believes in "the good of the empire."
According to Thompson, they will bring to life a "faceless storm trooper" that fans of Star Wars are not used to see in movies and games. The storm troopers, like all other characters in Star Wars universe, also have stories that can be told.
Thompson in his previous interview explained their decision to make Versio as a lead character in the game when he was asked if fans will receive her since Rey and Jyn were included in the recent Star Wars films. He replied that the most important of all is just about making a good character.
He believes that the figure makes sense to the story. If he or she belongs in the Star Wars universe, then everything else is unimportant.
In addition, the story mode of "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" will feature really cool gameplay scenarios from perspective of the Empire, Daily Express reported. The publication said that LucasArts creative executive Steve Blank explains via PlayStation blog about the time and setting of the campaign.
"Motive pitched us a story that would span that time, from Return of the Jedi through to the events of The Force Awakens," Blank stated.
"Star Wars: Battlefront 2" will be released on November 17 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will revolve on the revenge story of elite Imperial Commander Iden Versio at the time when the second Death Star was destroyed and follows on to the events of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
