ASUS has already announced the ZenFone AR at CES in Vegas and showed off the Tango and Daydream together. a Daydream-ready smartphone that boasts Google Tango, a type of augmented reality technology which according to Asus "changes the way you interact with the world and expands your vision." In a recent report, the device will be unveiled this June in Taiwan and appears like it's happening soon as invites to a June 14th event in the country are already being sent out.
Asus Zenfone AR: Specs, Design, And Features
Asus Zenfone AR will come and feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD screen, 2560 x 1440 resolution, wrapped in Gorilla Glass 4. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 256 GB storage. As for the cameras, the phone will sport an 8MP selfie shooter and 23MP Sony IMX318 camera with Laser Focus, TriTech+ autofocus system, dual-PDAF and continuous focus.
Meanwhile, the rear camera features 4-axis OIS, 3-axis EIS, and 4K video recording capability. Keeping the power chugging along is a 3300mAh battery. Other specs which include the following, a Built-in Mono Speaker, dual SIM card slot, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0, GPS, ASUS SonicMaster 3.0, microUSB, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi direct and 4G/LTE.
Interestingly, Asus ZenFone AR is the world's first smartphone to arrive with both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality support (VR), both from Google, though it was not the first to be supported with Daydream VR on which that position belongs to the Lenovo PhabPro 2. According to a source, one main reason behind bringing Asus ZenFone AR to the market is that the PhabPro 2 did not have enough apps and that the Tango apps used did not run smoothly on the PhabPro 2.

Furthermore, the Asus ZenFone AR will also be launching on Verizon in the US, with no official word yet on other carrier launches in the other countries.
