Universal Pictures and WayForward have announced the new video game called "The Mummy Demastered". It is a tie-in to the monster movie reboot by Universal that is starred by Tom Cruise.
Referring to PR Newswire's report, "The Mummy Demastered" in a 16-bit 2D platform is in development and scheduled for release in August for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and and PC via Steam.
"The Mummy Demastered" is a platforming adventure game that will be based on "The Mummy" film. The game will take players into a world of evil taking the role of an elite Prodigium agent whose mission is to face-off with Princess Ahmanet's army of the undead and save the world by any means.
This new video game is a "retro-inspired adventure" that will allow players to explore dark forests, military compounds that is designed like a maze, and the streets of London filled with sandstorm. Also, it is just one of the three new digital experiences based on the "The Mummy" that will let fans continue to take on the epic adventure other than the big screen.
Other title is called "The Mummy Prodigium Strike", a location-based VR gaming experience. Another is "The Mummy Dark Universe Stories", which will be mobile game for Android and iOS.
"The Mummy Dark Universe Stories" is scheduled to launch later this month. "The Mummy Prodigium Strike" can be experienced in LA at the Hollywood & Highland Center and at IMAX VR center in LA and New York. Tickets are now available for $15 on location, and for $12 at IMAXVR website.
WayForward is the studio that developed "Shantae" series, the movie-based "Goosebumps: The Game". It is also behind other games based on "The Smurfs", "Adventure Time", and other Disney IPs, as per PlayStation Lifestyle.
"The Mummy Demastered" is scheduled for release in late August. It is being developed for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and and Window PC via Steam.
