Apple officially released its iOS 9.2.1 update in January this year. With the release of the new update, the big question now for every user is the details of iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak's availability.
The last jailbreak tool released was for version 9.0.2, and after this, Apple had fixed all vulnerabilities being used by TaiG and Pangu, Neuro Gadget reported.
It had been rumored earlier that jailbreak for 9.2 would be developed once 9.2.1 update is released. But that has not happened so far.
It is said that an individual - reportedly an Italian developer - was able to successfully jailbreak iOS 9.2.1 in its beta version; however, this jailbreak is not publicly available, Gotta Be Mobile reported. Both TaiG and Pangu are yet to declare any jailbreaks for 9.2.1.
Contrary to popular expectations, iOS 9.2.1 was a smaller update with no big changes or additional features; however, 9.2.1 update brings a host of bug fixes, security updates and performance boosters. It shall allow iOS to run better on both iPad and iPhone.
Pangu had recently recommended its users to update their Apple devices to 9.2.1 in order to take advantage of the new security fixes, according to Gotta Be Mobile; however, Neuro Gadget warns that this may not be a very wise move. It reported that Apple has already patched codes used by Pangu 9. So if one was to remain jailbroken, one should not upgrade their iPhone or iPad to iOS 9.1, 9.2 or 9.2.1.
Speculations suggest that the new 9.2.1 version might be last of 9.2 based updates, while iOS 9.3 is likely to be released soon. In fact, both beta versions and user preview of 9.3 are already out.
Hence, there is hope that jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1 might be out soon. Furthermore, no jailbreak developer - whether it be from famous TaiG or Pangu or any other team - reveals their progress made into a jailbreak. This means that a jailbreak could be released without any warning, and the only thing left to do is to wait.
