In April, when it was introduced in South Korea for pre-orders, it went out of stock even though it came with a heavy price tag of around $1,020. In the same month, Yonhap News from South Korea reported that Samsung has plans to release the Galaxy S8+ phone in more markets. The variant is only available in mainland China.
It was also introduced at the end of the same month in Hong Kong. Speculations hint that Samsung might also launch the same variant in U.S. only after it gauges the demand. The Hong Kong variant of the Galaxy S8+ with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile networks, Sam Mobile reported. Earlier in this month, the the same Galaxy S8+ model was also launched in India in Midnight Black color, NDTV reported.
The Galaxy S8 smartphones sales are expected to cross 40 million units. The South Korea brokerage house predicted the sale of 43-60 million units, while Eugene Investment & Securities Co has estimated Samsung will sell 60 million units of Galaxy S8+. Mirae Asset Daewoo Co claims that the Galaxy S8 smartphones to reach to 51 million units.
The Samsung Galaxy S8+ features a 5.8-inch display, while the Plus variant sports a 6.2-inch display. Both the phones sport bezel-less curved display. These flagships are powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset. In some regions, the smartphone it is equipped with Exynos 8895 SoC.
