A report from South Korea that had appeared few months ago claimed that LG G6 is likely to come with 3D face-scanning feature. It is expected to launch in this month.
Rumors have it that LG has teamed up with Oez company manufactures facial recognition software.The reason to join hands with Oez is mainly because the OezFR software is said to be compatible with LG's high-end phones such as LG V20 and LG G5. The software is also said to take less space of 3.5-5 MB and come with security measures to secure the pictures from getting hacked.
The software will be implemented on the LG's G6 phone by this month but there is no update from the South Korean company on the arrival of the feature. The LG G6 is likely to be the first phone that will be introducing wireless payment through facial recognition technology. Other companies such as Samsung, Apple and Google are currently using the biometric sensors and NFC chips for mobile payments, PhoneArena reported.
The LG G6 smartphone sports a 5.7-inch display with a quad HD resolution of 1,440 x 2,880 pixels. It is powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset that includes Adreno 530 graphics. The phone is packed with 4 GB of RAM and comes in storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB.
The smartphone is loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. It features a 13-megapixel + 13-megapixel dual rear camera module and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The phone comes with IP68 rated body, that means it is resistant to both water and dust.
The LG G6 features fingerprint sensor on the backside and is equipped with a 3,300 mAh capacity battery. The phone include connectivity options such as Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C, and Wi-Fi. It is available in three color variants of Astro Black, Ice Platinum, and Mystic White, NDTV reported.
