Here's a sad news for loyal customers of BlackBerry, the company announced further layoff, which puts the future of BB10 OS in doubt.
Tough competition has affected the overall performance of BlackBerry in the market, and the company has come down to less than one percent from its market share of twenty percent in 2010. Although the market analyzers are not talking about the extinction of the company, it is clear that the company is struggling to survive the highly competitive market.
Earlier in Sept 2015, BlackBerry axed about 200 hardware and design staff, right after the completion of BlackBerry's Android device called BlackBerry Priv, and now, they are announcing that they will lay off another 200 staff from their head quarters in Ontario and Florida. Thus, in the last six months, already four hundred staff members have been removed.
The reports are showing that BlackBerry Priv has performed well in several markets, and still rolling in some other markets. This success has been underlined by some reports, which say that the company is working on the successor of Priv, which is said to be another Android smartphone. According to reliable sources, this new model will be a non-sliding version of Priv.
Moreover, the company registered a good sale in the last quarter of 2015, and has shipped about 700,000 smartphones. The financial graph of the company is also turning towards the positive side. At this juncture, the present announcement of layoff will not be due to financial crunch, as observe many experts. According to them, the company might have decided to do away with its own OS and to go with Android instead, and they hold it up as the reason for reducing the number of staff members in the design and hardware sections.
On other BlackBerry news, when Blackberry updated its BlackBerry 10 OS version to 10.3.2.2876, users started to complain of not being able to removed unnecessary Android Apps. Users even uninstalled Apps from their home screens, but the app failed to be removed on the phone. Now the company has some fix to the issue, just follow these simple instructions:
Visit BlackBerry World Store link (via Crackberry).
One must only use the BlackBerry browser and must not set it to a desktop mode.
Once Android runtime mode is updated, reboot your BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
