HTC One M10 release will reportedly take place at this year's Mobile World Congress scheduled next week. The new HTC smartphone will reportedly have a Windows OS variant.
Taiwanese-company HTC has been an active participant on the aforementioned tech event for the past years and has utilized the event as a launching platform of its flagship smartphone - One M series.
While the series runs with Android operating system, HTC tried its hands on making Windows OS-based smartphones. The company made the Windows variant of HTC One M8 and was launched in Verizon Wireless in the US. However, the smartphone did not gain much popularity.
According to Mobipicker, HTC is making a comeback in making Windows phones since, while not huge in numbers, Windows phone are selling quite well. The company is reported to unveil the smartphone soon. HTC is doing this in partnership with Microsoft. Microsoft is seeking candidates for the post of director of account management who will be placed in Taipei and will be working with HTC directly to launch new Windows 10 Mobile products.
Meanwhile, some of the rumored HTC One M10 features are: a bigger screen display with either 2K or 4K pixel resolution, which will yield to clearer and more vivid images. Under the hood, the handset is purported to be powered by Qualcomm 82X with 3.X GHz Octa-core HMP cyclone technology (6 instruction per cycle capability) paired with 4GB of RAM that will deliver faster and better performance. The handset will sport the same storage systems with microSD slot for additional external storage.
Other rumored features of HTC One M10 are dual-SIM support, 27 megapixels front and back camera, longer battery life, and wireless charging feature, according to TechRadar in a separate report. The smartphone will be dustproof and water-resistant like most handsets. The handset will cost around $650 to $800 depending on the storage variant. However, HTC has confirmed none of the aforementioned rumors.
