Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones have been revealed through a video by Samsung Indonesia.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones are slated to get unveiled a day before the start of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 event on Feb. 21. However, Samsung Indonesia has already revealed the upcoming flagships through a video.
As it can be seen in the video, both the smartphones are shown getting under rainfall. This clearly shows that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones will be coming with water-resistant chassis, Phone Probe reported. The video seems to be seems to be authentic as it is hosted on the official Samsung channel.
One of the teasers reveals that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have received IP68 certification that confirms that both will remain undamaged when submerged in water with a depth of 3.2 feet for 30 minutes. Samsung had included IP certification in Galaxy S5 but axed the feature on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones.
Another teaser suggests that both the smartphones will be able to deliver robust privacy. In terms of the design, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones seems to appear similar to the predecessor models
Also, another teaser shows that the rear camera on both S7 models will be able to snap high quality photos in dim lighting conditions, Phone Arena reported. Speculations suggest that the both models will include 12 MP cameras equipped with small-sized sensors but will arrive with larger pixels.
The Galaxy S7 is expected to feature a 5.1-inch AMOLED screen and the Galaxy S7 Edge will be coming with a 5.5-inch AMOLED dual-edge screen. Both the screens will carry support for Quad HD resolution. B
In North America, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are going to feature Snapdragon 820 chipset. The Exynos 8890 chipset will drive the S7 and S7 Edge phones for the rest of the world. The chipset will be accompanied by 4 GB of RAM. Both devices will be available in storage options of 32 GB and 64 GB.
Rumors are rife that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones will carry support for microSD storage slot, a feature that is unavailable on Galaxy S6 and S6 smartphones. The external storage will be made available through a hybrid SIM slot. Speculations suggest that the Galaxy S7 will be arriving with a 3000 mAh battery whereas the Galaxy S7 Edge will be housing a 3600 mAh battery.
