Aston Martin's car built for superspy James Bond is up for auction in London for an expected price between $1.5 million and $2.2 million. The British spy's DB10 supercar was featured in the latest Agent 007 movie in which Bond drove into the Rome river Tiber.
Bond has driven the British auto brand for over 50 years and the Aston Martin DB10 was custom-built for "Spectre."
The famous Bond car will be put up for auction by Christie's auction house. It is one of 10 units built for Bond to drive in the newest spy movie.
The supercar that was the most expensive ever built for a Bond movie includes a 4.7-liter V8 petrol engine with a top speed of about 190 miles per hour (306 km/hr). However, buyers should keep in mind that the DB10 is a collector's car and is not certified to be used on public roads.
Other items up for sale at the sale include the skeleton costume Bond wore during the start of the film at the "Day of the Dead" celebrations in Mexico City, according to CNBC. The outfit includes a coat, mask, hat and gloves.
Another item up for sale is Bond's Omega Seamaster 300 luxury watch, according to Daily Mail. In the film it creates a blast that saves Bond in a scene that includes drills and the superspy's arch enemy Blofeld.
A 9-carat gold ring that includes the logo of the evil organization Spectre will also be on the auction block. Spectre's leader is Blofeld.
Bidders can also try to secure the cufflinks worn by Tom Ford in the latest 007 movie. They were signed by Daniel Craig and are expected to fetch about $7,100.
Christie's online Bond auction started on February 16, Thursday and will include a total of 14 of 24 lots. On February 18, Thursday the invitation-only live auction will feature the other 10 lots.
The auction's items include donations from director Sam Mendes, actor Daniel Craig, and artist Sam Smith. Smith co-wrote the Oscar-nominated theme song "Writing's on the Wall."
All proceeds from the auction will go to various charities. That includes the United Nations Mine Action Service.
