'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC Rumors: New DLC To Feature More Playable Heroes, Outer Space Battles; Launch Date Set In The First Quarter Of 2016?

New "Star Wars Battlefront" details will feature more playable heroes, outer space battles a possible launch date for the game's rumored DLC.

Game developer DICE announced that new DLC updates for "Star Wars Battlefront" will be announced this year and it will be free for all gamers. DICE stated that the decision was made because several gamers complained about the game's content problem that has them "burning out" of the game quickly.

"Star Wars Battlefront's" publisher Electronic Arts have collaborated with DICE about the problem and decided that they will incorporate a 40-player game mode called "Turning Point", in which gamers will control soldiers from the Rebel Alliance to strike down Imperial bases in Jakku. Turning Point will have countdown clock as they progress with the first tower, the second and third towers will prove to be a challenge for them, since the enemy units will be more prepared and hard to fight.

Aside from the new game mode, several gaming fans made a petitioned in a recent Reddit trend regarding some suggestions for "Star Wars Battlefront's" future DLC, Design&Trend reported. The said petition requested that game developers add more playable characters from the "Star Wars" franchise. Six characters were already been present in "Star Wars Battelfront" such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Emperor Palpatine. Several characters from the francise were rumored to join the game which includes the likes of Yoda, Obi-wan Kenobi, Starkiller just to name a few.

The survey also hinted that the new DLC should contain outer space combat and a single player mode due to them lacking within the sequel's content, yet Electronic Arts still remain quiet about these features. There are also rumors of adding new maps from the original "Star Wars" trilogy such as Bespin/Cloud City, Yavin IV, The Death Star, Kashyyyk, Dagobah and Starkiller base.

The supposed launch date for the new DLC is set on the first quarter of 2016, although DICE and Electronic has not revealed any details regarding its release date, the Christian Today reported.

"The Battle for Jakku" was the first DLC made for "Star Wars Battlefront" and the game publishers confirmed that the game will not feature any content relating to the latest film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

"Star Wars Battlefront" is currently available in store for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and for the PC.
