Gionee has launched its Elife S6 in February 2016, which is quite similar to Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML that has been launched in August 2015. Priced at Rs 19,999, Gionee Elife is Rs 3,000 cheaper to Asus ZenFone 2, which comes with a price tag of Rs 22,999.
The comparisons done on The Mobile Indian explained both of them having a display of 5.5-inch and a rear camera of 13MP, the octa-core processor of Gionee Elife S6 works at clock speed of 1.3GHz whereas the quadcore processor of Asus Zenfone 2 works at a clocking speed of 2.3GHz; however, Gionee have a lower RAM of 3GB when compared with 4GB RAM of Asus ZenFone 2.
Gionee Elife S6 is very attractive phone with the design of its body. Its height of 151.9mm, 74.6mm width and 4-6.9 mm thickness makes it sleeker to Asus ZenFone2, which is 10.9mm thick, 77.2mm wider and 1152.5mm long and weighs 23grams more to Gionee Elife S6 that weighs 147grams.
According to Phone Bunch the 403ppi density in screen by Asus ZenFone 2 makes images sharper than Gionee Elife S6's 267 ppi density. While Asus ZenFone 2 comes in black, red, white, and golden colors, Elife S6 is available only in gold color. The metal body looks stunning on Gionee S6 but makes it vulnerable to slips when compared to the plastic grippy body of Asus ZenFone 2.
Also, as illustrated in Smartprix, Gionee S6 has a removable battery, which Asus ZenFone 2 does not have, but that latter has a dual LED flash while Gionee Elife S6 has single flash and other camera features are similar.
While Asus ZenFone supports NFC, a mobile payment solution, Gionee S6 lacks in this feature which seems not too relevant in the Indian market context where this payment solution is yet to find ways.
With pros and cons, each of this feature phones has some ups and downs. The designing and battery life makes Gionee a plus, while display and features make Asus a plus.
