(Photo : Uncalno Tekno) Twitter for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile has been updated to version 5.0. This new versions brings to the table several important features.

Doom and gloom surrounds the Windows 10 app platform. Developers are not interested in creating apps because not enough users take advantage of the Windows Store, but Twitter doesn't seem to feel this way.

Instead of pulling its app like many others, Twitter decided to release a new update that brings interesting changes and a new user interface. The new app is now available for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

The update has done something most people thought impossible, and that is to bring some of the key Twitter features to the Windows platform. In the past, Windows smartphone and desktop users had to settle for a lesser Twitter app, but this is changing, and changing fast.

With the new app, users can mute whomever they please, and take advantage of GIFs and Moments. When it comes down to group chats, that's there also, a real surprise from our point of view.

For those who have been waiting on the dark theme to be added, worry not because it is here on both the desktop and mobile version of Windows 10. We have to say, the app feels completely, more so than it has ever been. This is probably because the Twitter app is universal, which means the developers do not have to create an app for each platform. Less time porting and more time adding needed features to help bring the app on the same level as Android and iOS.

The official Twitter app is still not the best on offer, but it is good to see that the developers are finally doing what is needed to make it so.

Far way to go before the official Twitter app can be considered as the same when compared to versions on Android and iOS, but it is getting there, and it is also up to Microsoft to keep developers interested and users turning their sights to the Windows Store.

If you're out looking for the best Windows Store app, then we'd like to recommend something called Tweetium. It's a third-party app and much better than what the original has on offer. Still, it is in beta and as such, will have several bugs that might turn off some users.
