Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey's interview on The Today Show has resulted in media outlets reporting that the social media giant has decided not to increase its 140-character limit on tweets. In January it was reported Twitter was considering a 10,000 character limit that would show 140 characters but give tweeters the option to click a post to view more content. It seems the current character limit will stay but the social network might allow imbedded text.

In the past Dorsey explained that the 140-character limit is helpful and that Twitter will never lose that "feeling."

However, the Twitter chief executive also referred to the microblogging service's users snapping screenshots of text to beat the character limit. Dorsey has suggested the screenshot's text could become actual text that people could search and highlight.

Dorsey went on The Today Show on March 18, Friday to discuss the company's 10th anniversary. Matt Lauer asked Twitter's CEO about the 140-character limit. Dorsey said that the constraint is staying but the company is changing many things to improve the social network, according to Tech Crunch.

It seems that tweets will still have a 140 character limit. However, it was unclear if the company would support imbedded text in the same way images and video can be added now.

When asked about whether his social media platform censors users Dorsey answered it absolutely does not, according to Today. He explained that the company lets its 320 million active users follow who they want and provides them with the most important content.

However, the Twitter CEO added that any tweets that support violence are against the tech company's terms of service. That includes a video made by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) that opposed Dorsey and Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg for their anti-terrorism activities.

The Twitter chief executive also shared that he sometimes gets some nasty messages from Internet trolls. However, Dorsey claimed he has never blocked any Twitter account because he wants to learn what people are saying on the microblogging platform.

Dorsey also noted that Twitter allows the public to communicate directly with celebrities. They include Kim Kardashian West with almost 42 million followers, and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
