Samsung has officially announced the 2016 editions of Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5.
The 2016 versions of the Samsung Galaxy J7 and Galaxy J5 smartphones are now officially listed on Samsung China website. Both the smartphones will replace their first generation models that were launched last year, Phone Arena reported.
Both the smartphones are designed to snap stunning selfies as both are equipped with front-facing LED flashes for frontal cameras. The Samsung Galaxy J5 comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen that supports a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
It is powered by a quad-core CPU that delivers a clocking speed of 1.2 GHz. It is supported by 2 GB of RAM. The midrange smartphone comes with a native storage support of 16 GB. It features a memory card slot that supports up to 128 GB of microSD card.
It comes with a rear camera of 13 MP and on its front side, there is a selfie shooter of 5 MP that is enabled with a frontal LED flash. The Galaxy J5 (2016) carries support for LTE and NFC connectivity. Its dimensions are 151 x 76 mm. It measures 8.1 mm in thickness and weighs 159 grams. It is packed with a battery of 3100 mAh capacity.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) also sports similar specs as the Galaxy J5. It is a bigger smartphone as it comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen. The phablet supports full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
It is reportedly powered by Exynos 7870 chipset that features an octa-core processor that clocks at 1.6 GHz. The SoC is enabled with 3 GB of RAM. It will also arrive with a native storage of 16 GB. The dedicated memory card slot of the device carries support for up to 128 GB of microSD card.
It also features a 13 MP rear shooter and a 5 MP front-facing cameras. Both the cameras are enabled with frontal LED flashes. The other features of the Galaxy J7 (2016) include NFC, LTE and 3,300 mAh battery. Its dimensions are 151.7 x 76 mm. It has a thickness of 7.8 and weighs 170 grams.
These smartphones will be launching in China soon. However, there is no information on their availability in other markets. Samsung has already launched Galaxy J3 (2016) in the U.S. So, it is likely that the 2016 versions of Galaxy J5 and J7 smartphones will be available in the U.S. later this year, GSM Arena reported.
