A super-rich Saudi tourist has arrived in London with a fleet of gold-coated luxury vehicles worth over $1.8 million including Bentley, Mercedes, Rolls-Royce, and Lamborghini models. The wealthy automobile collector has chosen to roll around London Town in the gold cars instead of taking black taxis and the Tube subway.
London's uber-rich visitor brought a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe, which is a two-door version of the high-end limousine. This $506,000 luxury limo is equipped with a 6.75-liter engine and can hit 155 miles per hour (mph).
Another vehicle in the visitor's fleet is the six-wheeled off-road Mercedes G63 AMX 6x6 worth over $534,000, according to Mirror. It would be more ideal for Middle Eastern sand dunes than the bumper-to-bumper traffic in London.
The Saudi car collector believed to be in his 20s also brought a gold-coated Bentley Flying Spur. This limousine has a price tag around $315,000 and can reach 200 mph.
In addition, the young man visiting England's capital city also brought the high-performance Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce with him. The supercar is worth about $506,000 and has a 6.5-liter V12 engine under the hood. It can go from 0 to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 217 mph.
It is common for wealthy Middle Eastern auto collectors to bring their car fleet to London. However, it has sometimes prevented locals from catching shut-eye due to the sound of the supercars' revving engines.
Last year the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea introduced a new law that prevents drivers from revving engines, racing, doing stunts, honking horns, and blocking traffic. Offenders can be charged with a maximum $1,400 fine.
In related news BGR recently listed the eight most expensive supercars in the world. Topping the list is the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita with an astronomical price tag of $4.85 million.
The super-pricey car is coated with diamonds on the white carbon fiber body, according to BGR. In a product description the company brags that the car's exterior is not paint or tint, and shines like millions of diamonds when sunlight hits the car. It has a 4.8-iter V8 engine under the hood that produces 1,018 horsepower.
