There are speculations circulation around the tech community that Apple is planning to launch a completely overhauled version of the Apple Watch in June. While earlier rumors claim that Apple is gearing up to release a new Apple Watch in September, tech analysts believe that it might be sooner than that.
While sales figure of the Apple Watch are stable, the smartwatch is not exactly a runaway as originally anticipated. With that, rumors claim that Apple might put more focus on the iPhone 7 which is expected to debut in September.
Tech analysts predict that the next generation Apple Watch will be around 20 to 40 percent thinner compared to the one currently in the market.
Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White told BGR, "Finally, we walked away with the sense that the Apple Watch refresh will occur in September with the iPhone 7, but is more likely to occur within the next 2-3 months, and thus we believe an unveiling at WWDC in June makes sense. We believe Apple Watch 2 could be 20-40% thinner than the current Apple Watch."
While some analyst are taking White's statement with a grain of salt, many in the tech community agree that a significantly thinner Apple Watch is just the right upgrade to the smartwatch.
For some tech analysts, an Apple Watch that is 40 percent thinner might sound like a big leap. However, there are indications that the Cupertino-based tech giant have already started designing the Apple Watch 2 and it will indeed be thinner than the current one.
Other rumors suggest that the Apple Watch 2 will have an upgraded battery pack. This is in response to one of the many criticisms about Apple Watch, which is its lack of battery capacity. There are rumors claiming that the next generation smartwatch will also include a GPS sensor and a FaceTime camera.
Regarding the highly rumored iPhone 7, the successor to Apple's flagship smartphone is expected to be unveiled in September. The next generation iPhone is believed to be a bit smaller with only a 4.7-inch display. According to Techno Buffalo, the Apple iPhone 7 is also expected to retain the single-lens camera system.
