Tech giant Microsoft recently announced that it is rolling out the Windows 10 Mobile OS update to two of its high-end smartphones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The roll out is part of Microsoft's plan of establishing an operating system that covers all the platforms where it operates.

The Windows 10 Mobile OS update will fix the problems that plagued Microsoft's flagship devices. One of these problems involves the camera. Upon the release of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, users have constantly reported about its performance. Most notable of this is the lag time between clicking the snap button and the picture being actually captured.

Aside from this lag time, some users also reported that they were not able to take photographs when the devices are set in HDR mode, according to REM. With Windows 10 Mobile update, these camera problems are set to be fixed and will make the cameras faster and lighter.

Another major issue faced by owners of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL is with regards with Skype. The Skype Messenger app on these devices was plagued by a handful of problems, causing discontent and rage to thousands of users. Users reported various tech problems like unintended drop calls and a bug which causes the profile photo of users to completely disappear, according to The Independent.

On top of the two previously mentioned fixes, the latest Windows 10 Mobile update will also improve the battery life of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL devices. Based on their respective specs list, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have impressive battery life. However, the same cannot be said when the smartphones are pitted on real life use.

Users complain that the smartphone cannot last a full day of use, especially when 4G LTE mode is turned on. Microsoft have already acknowledged the problem and said that it was addressed in the latest update.

Many tech analysts consider the Lumia 950 XL Microsoft's effort to merge desktop computers with the mobility of smartphones. The device has an option that allows users to connect it to larger displays therefore allowing it to function as sort of a desktop computer. Despite these impressive features, experts believe that the Lumia series of devices will not proliferate unless Microsoft fixes the bugs that hampers the performance of its devices.
