HTC One S9, New Midrange Smartphone Is Official

HTC has announced a new midrange smartphone called the HTC One S9.

The HTC One S9 appears like the HTC One M9 and its sports a metal unibody design. It measures 144.6 x 69.7 x 10.09 mm and weighs 158 grams. It features a full HD screen of 5-inch that supports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It bears dual front-facing BoomSound speakers on its front side.

It is powered by Helio X10 chipset from MediaTek. The chipset features an octa-core processor that clocks at 2 GHz. The SoC also houses PowerVR G6200 graphics. It is supported by 2 GB of RAM. It comes in only one storage version of 16 GB. The external storage slot supports 200 GB of microSD. The One S9 comes preloaded with Android Marshmallow OS overlaid with HTC Sense UI.

The rear camera of the HTC One S9 is of 13 MP. Even though it is a midrange smartphone, the camera is enabled with features like full HD video recording and optical image stabilization (OIS). It houses a 4 MP UltraPixel technology driven selfie camera. It can shoot better photos in low-lighting conditions, GSM Arena reported.

It comes with usual connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE, v4.1 Bluetooth, and aGPS. It is packed with a battery of 2840 mAh capacity. It can deliver a standby time of around 685 hours on 3G and a talk time of around 13 hours on 3G.

The HTC One S9 will be hitting European markets first as HTC Germany has already debuted it. It will be available with a price tag of about $566. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on when it will be released in the U.S. markets.

Rumors have it that the Taiwanese tech giant is working on a new Desire smartphone. The alleged HTC Desire 830 is speculated to feature a 5.46-inch screen that supports full HD resolution. It is powered by MediaTek MT6753 chipset and 3 GB of RAM. Its internal storage is of 32 GB and it will also carry support for microSD storage, Phone Arena reported.

HTC has not confirmed on the existence of the Desire 830 smartphone. Since couple of leaked photos of the smartphones as well as its purported specs has surfaced, the HTC Desire 830 is expected to be officially unveiled soon.
