iPhone 7 Rumors: Apple Flagship Smartphone Will Retain 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Rumors about the specs of the upcoming iPhone 7 began to surface early this year and the most prominent once claims that Apple is ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack on its flagship smartphone in order to make room for a bigger battery pack. Contrary to this rumor, a recent leaked photograph reveals that Apple will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack.

According to iDigital Times, the leaked photograph first surfaced on the Chinese microblogging website, Weibo. The leaked photo reveals what is believed to be the iPhone 7 module. It has the headphone jack as well as the Lightning port.

The recently leaked photograph finally dismissed another rumor claiming that Apple is ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack, and instead uses the Lightning port or Bluetooth connectivity for audio peripherals.

Some tech analysts believe that if the upcoming iPhone 7 will include the Smart Connector which Apple added to the iPad Pro line of devices, the next iPhone generation will be able to charge and play music at the same time thought the Lightning port.

According to Mac World, Apple will launch two new iPhone smartphones this September. There are also indications pointing to a possible third model. Tech analysts will believe that the iPhone 7 will have a 4.7-inch screen, the iPhone 7 Plus will have a 5.5-inch screen, and possibly a third iPhone will have a 4-inch display. The third model might be an iPhone SE, although this remains to be confirmed.

There are rumors claiming that the iPhone 7 will have an overhauled design. Not much is known about this change in design philosophy, but many tech experts believe that Apple might opt in to remove the antenna bars.

Probably the most talked about tweak with regards to iPhone 7 specs is the battery pack. Some tech analysts believe that Apple will push some significant upgrade in the iPhone 7's battery pack, while some experts believe that Apple will also introduce battery saving features in order to further conserve the battery life of the device.

There are also rumors claiming that Apple will ditch the 16GB storage capacity option. Instead, the upcoming iPhone 7 will have at least a 32GB storage space, with a 64GB and 128GB options.
