The Tizen-powered Samsung Z2 has been launched in India for $68 (INR 4590) in India. It is expected to be available in major retail outlets in the country on August 29.
According to Engadget, the Samsung Z2 has a 4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor. It comes with a 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage that is expandable via a microSD slot. It offers dual-SIM support.
The Samsung Z2 features a 5-megapixel camera at the back with LED flash and a front-facing VGA selfie camera. It is packed with a 1500 mAh battery that can last up to 8 hours on single charge. Its color options are gold, black, and wine red.
The Samsung Z2 is pre-loaded with a 90-day free trial for various entertainment apps from the Indian mobile operator Jio, The Verge reported.
The Samsung Z2 also has a number of Samsung "Made for India" features that Indian users will surely enjoy. One feature is Ultra Data Saving mode. It compresses data by up to 40 percent. Another feature is an S bike mode. It makes field calls easier when the user is riding. Other features are Ultra Power Saving mode and the My Money Transfer app.
The Samsung Z2 can be purchased at any retail stores or online via Paytm. It is expected to be released to other countries.
