The rugged, water-resistant Archos 50 Saphir smartphone with a 5000 mAh battery has been launched for the price tag of $220 (approximately Rs. 14,754).
According to Phone Arena, the Archos 50 Saphir is IP68-certified, making it dust proof and water resistant at a maximum depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
The Archos 50 Saphir is designed to withstand all calamities. It sports Corning Gorilla Glass 4 that is scratch resistant and saves the screen from a 1 meter high falls. It can also withstand temperatures from -20 degrees centigrade to +55 degrees centigrade.
The Archos 50 Saphir has a 5-inch 720p IPS high-definition display. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MTK6737 chipset clocked at a speed of 1.5 GHz. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Mali-T720 GPU.
The Archos 50 Saphir comes with a 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. It features a 13-megapixel autofocus camera at the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Archos 50 Saphir is packed with a mammoth 5000 mAh battery with a 9V/2.5A fast charger. Its connectivity options are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, 4G LTE, and Bluetooth 4.0.
The Archos 50 Saphir will be available in Europe starting October. It is still unclear whether the device would be released in the U.S.
French multinational mobile company Archos has announced that the Archos 50 Saphir will be joining its 50f Helium and 55 Helium series, Phone Radar reported.
