Nintendo could release its newest console Nintendo NX next month. Nintendo's upcoming console is expected to be a direct competitor with the Xbox One Scorpio.
Gaming personality Kevin Pereira sparked rumors about the upcoming release of the Nintendo NX after he posted Snapchat photos of a Nintendo gathering during the GameStop showcase. He tweeted teasers such as: "NX news tomorrow" and "mobile-console two-in-one."
The Nintendo NX was initially expected to be released in 2017. The teasers have already been deleted and described as jokes. A Nintendo exec supposedly said that there is no NX news "yet, but very soon." Because of this statement, there are rumors that the specs of the NX would be released this month or in October. It is possible that Nintendo would host a surprise announcement during the Tokyo Game 2016.
The Nintendo NX is rumored to be a handheld, hybrid device which will run on cartridges and have detachable controllers. According to IBTimes, it could be at par with the Xbox One Scorpio if it will be a platform for Bethesda to release its game. Bethesda PR and Marketing VP Pete Hines said that they are considering NX if the console has specs which are equally strong or better than that of the Xbox One Scorpio, Xbox One or the PS4.
The Xbox One Scorpio was unveiled at the E3 Expo early this year. It is said to be the most powerful console with virtual reality support and 4K gaming. The One Scorpio is expected to include six teraflops of GPU which could be more powerful that the PS4 Pro. The console is set to be released in 2017.
