Apple iPhone Gets 'Gadget of the Decade' Title; Check out the Other Winners of Annual T3 Awards

The Apple iPhone won the "Gadget of the Decade" award at the 2016 T3 Awards.

The runners up in the category include Apple's iPad, Netflix, and Playstation 3.

The T3 Awards is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Editor Job Carney said "It's incredible to look back over the past 10 years of tech and see how it's changed and influenced the world we live in. Apple's iPhone is a more than worthy recipient of the gadget of the decade - it paved the way for all modern smartphones."

Meanwhile, rival Samsung S7 Edge was named best phone by the tech magazine. Samsung was also hailed as the brand of the year while its Gear S2 smartwatch received the award for best wearable technology.

Other victorious brands include HTC Vive, a virtual reality headset that took home not just one but three awards including innovation of the year, gaming product of the year and gadget of the year.

Sony XD93, Microsoft Surface Book, and Tesla Mode X won television of the year, laptop of the year, and car of the year award respectively.

The magazine also recognized individuals who have contributed to the advancement of technologies include the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales (Tech Legend), Raspberry Pi founder Eben Upton (Outstanding Contribution to Tech), and Will-I-Am (Tech Personality of the Year).

The technology awards ceremony was held in London.
