It is great news for StarCraft II players and StarCrafts cartoon fans as the new adorable StarCrafts Mod is officially out.
Created by StarCrafts cartoon maker CarBot, the mod of the famous StarCraft II franchise features the same characters, units, buildings, and maps of the original game - only way brighter and much cuter that ever. In fact, the mod has made the real-time strategy game more appealing.
"StarCrafts is a popular cartoon recognized for its lovable characters, bright & beautiful art, and clever sense of humor," noted Blizzard in the StarCrafts mod arcade page. "Starting today however, you'll be able to experience StarCrafts, and all its happy humor, within the StarCraft II Arcade!"
The mod can be played by any StarCraft II player. Gamers who would want to try it out can access it for free. All that a person needs is the StarCraft II base game which can be downloaded from Battle.net for free.
To play using the mod, players should launch StarCraft II, select 'Arcade' in the top navigation bar, and choose the StarCrafts Mod, which is one of the featured Arcade games. The mod can also be accessed here.
Not only does the mod feature all visuals in cartoon mode, but it also injects a lighter and more humorous feel into the game. Compared to the game's originally dark but beautiful cinematics and game visuals, the StarCrafts mod presents the most hideous of the Zerg as cute little things.
Destructoid reported that the CarBots team wanted all players to have fun with the mod, they even added a dedicated button for the purpose of throwing cheese at opposing units. "Cheese does nothing but may mentally demoralize or enrage your opponent," the developers noted on their Indiegogo page.
