Since the Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010 for older Sony and Microsoft game consoles, gamers have been waiting for a sequel. Now, there are speculations that the title would be released early in 2017.
Rockstar Games has not issued an official announcement, but Take Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick's made a recent statement hinting to the upcoming release.
Zelnick said that the Red Dead Redemption is a permanent franchise in the company. According to GameNGuide, he said that the sequel would be released soon and fans would just need to be a bit more patient. Based on his statement, the sequel could hit the shelves in the next couple of months.
Rockstar Games and Take Two Interactive have remained mum on the sequel at the 2016 Gamescom, Tokyo Games, and E3. However, this was expected since the game publisher normally holds separate events for its bigger titles.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 is likely to be a prequel to the story of ex-outlaw John Marston. It is said to be around three times larger than the original game.
Unlike Red Dead Redemption, several details of the Grand Theft Auto 6 have been leaked several times, but it is not expected to be out in the market until April next year. Rockstar is said to be waiting for new gaming consoles to be released before it launches the game.
Rockstar is allegedly still working on Red Dead Redemption 2. There were rumors that the game would not be released until 2018.
