Recent leaks have revealed the rumored Samsung Chromebook Pro, a tablet and laptop hybrid device that is yet to be officially announced. The upcoming Chrome-OS-powered device has been dubbed as "Kevin."
According to Chrome Unboxed, the device is already available for pre-order on Adorama.
The upcoming Samsung Chromebook Pro could reportedly be one of the best Chromebooks to be released in the fall. The device comes with a 12.3-inch touch screen display with a 360-degree hinge for tablet or laptop usage. It features a hexacore chipset clocked at 2 GHz with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The Chromebook also comes with 4K content playback and is priced at $499 USD.
The Samsung Chromebook Pro has a full metal, 0.55-inch thick build. It also comes with a 2,400 x 1,600 display with a battery that lasts up to 10 hours between charges.
The device is said to be on par with the Google Pixel in terms of quality. It sports a stylus which is fitted on the side with the Chrome OS and Android apps integration. The release date of the device has not been confirmed yet but a B&H listing reveals an Oct. 24 release date. The Samsung Chromebook Pro will be an addition to the growing Chromebook 2-in-1 list.
Despite its recent Note 7 blunder, Samsung remains the top manufacturer and seller of Android smartphones in the world. The company launched a massive worldwide recall of the Galaxy Note 7 because of exploding batteries. The South Korean tech giant has decided to stop the manufacturing of the device.
