It appears that Samsung will not be discontinuing the Galaxy Note brand following the recent Galaxy Note 7 debacle. The next-generation Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is allegedly under development and could be released next year.
The South Korean tech giant is now conducting a Galaxy Note 7 Exchange Program which allows customers to upgrade their Note 7 devices to a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge with a discount. Customers would also get big discounts on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 when the phones are released next year.

While rumors abound about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung has not confirmed any of the speculated specs and features of the device. Experts believe that the company will opt for an early release in an attempt to win its customers back.
It is predicted that Samsung will reveal the Note 8 in January or at least in the first quarter of next year during the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2018. If not, it could also be unveiled at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017 in March. However, many believe this is implausible because the company usually releases the Galaxy S series models earlier than the Note line.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could come with 4K resolution, an Exynos 8895 processor, and 6 GB of RAM. Other rumored specs include artificial intelligence capabilities and significant improvements in camera and storage. It is expected to feature dual rear camera with 16 MP and 8 MP sensors. An updated S-Pen may also come with the device, as well as a fingerprint scanner. Samsung may use the removable battery feature again as it needs to be extra cautious with its battery this time.
