The Gionee S9 smartphone has been introduced in China.
The Gionee S9 is the successor to the recently launched Gionee S8, which is the company's first 3D Touch smartphone. A listing on the website of Chinese telecommunications equipment certification center (TENAA) shows that the device would have impressive specs.

The Gionee S9 sports an all metal body with rounded edges and slightly bumped out dual rear cameras. It has a 5.5-inch full high-definition LTPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It lacks the AMOLED panel.
The Gionee S9 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 chipset clocked at a speed of 2.0 GHz and coupled with Mali T860 GPU on top, same as the Gionee S8. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in memory that is expandable up to a maximum of 128GB via microSD card slot.
The Gionee S9 runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based in-house Amigo 3.5 operating system from the Chinese mobile company Gionee out of the box. It is packed with a 3000 mAh Lithium-Ion battery that provides at least a day of mixed usage.
The Gionee S9 features a dual camera setup on the back with 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. It is the first smartphone from the Gionee brand to offer dual cameras. It also comes with a 13-megapixel front-facing camera for better selfies and capturing decent images.
The Gionee S9 measures 154.2 x 76.4 x 7.4 mm in dimension and might feel slightly heavier with a weight of 168.2 grams. Other connectivity options are VoLTE, GPS, 4G, Bluetooth v4.0, and microUSB 2.0 port.
There is still no announcement yet whether the Gionee S9 will be launched in India or not. However, it will be available in black, gold, and rose gold color and will go on sale starting Nov. 25 in China with a price tag of $365 (around Rs. 24,700 or 2499 yuan).
