Spotify and Sonos' Potluck Playlist will let you and your friends make a playlist for your events. (Flickr)
Spotify and Sonos have introduced a new way of allowing users to personalize their playlists through the "Playlist Potluck" which aims to make users enjoy parties with music.
This feature allows users to share their playlists, invite friends and upload their tracks. Although collaborative playlists are not a fresh offer from the digital music service provider, this could change the way people have fun and connect with people. This project was launched with Sonos in connection with a promotional campaign that lets users win Sonos speakers or a night with top chefs Inaki Aizpitarte or Danny Bowien who will cook for the whole gang.

The playlist will only allow users to upload just five of their own tunes before they can share it with their friends. A URL that can be shared via electronic mail, Twitter and Facebook. These online invitations could give a glimpse of the music in store. Guests can simply click on the shared link and would be redirected to Spotify to add their own tracks. The Playlist Potluck also has a list of recommended tunes that match with the current songs on the list.
Sonos revealed that music plays an important role in boosting partygoers' mood. Data shows that music makes 82 percent of people relax while 78 percent of attendees use it to break the ice. About 85 percent of the respondents also agreed that events should be livened up with good tracks along with good conversation and friends while 62 percent think that everyone should share their own tunes to the crowd.
Want to enjoy the "Playlist Potluck?" Simply log onto the official website of Sonos at playlistpotluck.sonos.com and complete the setup details including the authorization to access your Spotify account and get the party started.
