According to users, the screenshot bug seems to manifest when using the iPhone 7 Plus. The first cases were about screenshots sent to Google Pixel or Pixel XL through an SMS app or Google Hangout having dimensional and color distortions. Now, some users also claim that the problem also can be experienced when using the iPhone 7.
Interestingly, the problem only affects screenshots taken with iPhone apps. Android Police stated that this appears to be the case for only third-party applications as images captured using the iPhone is okay.
The problem seems to only manifest one way. Screenshots taken using an app installed on any Google Pixel phone appear in their exact forms when they are sent to iPhone units. Also, the bug does not appear to be manifest consistently.
Many experts have pointed to the Android system as the source of the screenshot bug, particularly the Android 7.1 Nougat system. This could be true since the screenshot bug does not affect devices running on the Android 7.0 Nougat and devices on older Android and iOS platforms. However, the possibility that the problem may be emanating from a software glitch on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus cannot be ignored, as the case may be a software incompatibility between the firmware installed on the Google Pixel and iPhone 7 devices.
Google and Apple are yet to release a statement about the screenshot bug issue. However, since the development team at Google is already aware of the issue from the company's online forum, expect an update to fix the issue real soon.
