There are rumors that two industry giants, Intel and AMD, are planning to work together. AMD is allegedly planning to license its Radeon line of graphics cards tp Intel for use on some of its desktop processors.
As of this writing, Intel's integrated graphics cards are provided by Nvidia. However, this license agreement, which is worth $1.5 billion, is drawing to a close. Moreover, insider information claims that Intel has no intention of renewing its agreement with Nvidia.

This opens up speculations about a possible collaboration between AMD and Intel. Some analysts say that Intel has been hinting about a possible shift to AMD for quite some time now. Intel previously announced that the company's future graphics hardware would support AMD's FreeSync technology instead of licensing Nvidia's G-Sync tech, according to Extreme Tech.
Tech analysts are speculating about how Intel will tackle this in case it signs a deal with AMD. One option pointed out by experts is for Intel to continue its business as usual. However, with the desktop gaming market seeing a sustained decline, Intel will be facing a steep battle if the company cannot come up with a powerful integrated graphics.
According to Forbes, many tech analysts agree that if AMD and Intel strike a partnership deal, it is possible for AMD to develop a custom integrated graphics for Intel. AMD and Intel have never cooperated to this extent in the past, which is why some in the tech community have dismissed this possibility.
AMD is betting big on its Zen and Vega architecture, which the company claims will help it reclaim the market share it had lost to Intel. On the other hand, Intel is still dominating the desktop processor market as well as the high-end graphics card market. Intel's Kaby Lake processors are currently unmatched by any AMD chip, but with the imminent arrival of the Zen, this could change soon.
