Chrome for Android update now supports offline access. (YouTube)
Google has announced that Chrome for Android now allows users to download music, videos and an entire web page for offline viewing.
The new feature was initially rolled out in Chrome Canary. Google aims to make the app useful when no connectivity is available at all. A download button can be seen in the menu bar, next to the bookmark button. The content (videos, music, web page, etc.) will be downloaded once the button is clicked. Once the content is downloaded, it will be stored in the dedicated "Download's" section for the user to view it offline.

Aside from saving contents for offline viewing, Google also recommends pages that users can download for offline access. The Verge reported that the recommendations come from popular content, but will be personalized in the future.
Low memory devices will benefit from Chrome for Android's new feature, as it is said to reduce memory usage. Devices, specifically those with a RAM size about 512MB or lower, will see up to a 35 percent drop in memory usage.
Chrome for Android also supports a new "web sharing" feature which allows websites to implement their own "Share" button. According to Android Central, users can long tap their saved items and choose between sharing or deleting the content.
Meanwhile, Google also rolled out a new update for the Google Play Store, designed to cater to customer needs when connectivity is poor. The "Wait for Wi-Fi" feature allows applications to download automatically when connected to Wi-Fi connectivity. The "fast-browsing" feature pre-loads the popular parts of the store so users can browse through even though their internet connection is poor.
Chrome for Android also updated its text AutoCorrecting features and made improvements to the search interface. The new feature is currently being rolled out.
